Life Sciences Market Challenges
Understanding the Imperatives
The Life Sciences industry uses up to 23% of the world’s water supply, demonstrating the heavy reliance that the industry has on water, and making this industry vulnerable to the effects of water-related climate risks. The potential financial impact of water risks is reported to be an estimated 38% higher than the cost of addressing them, and as this industry requires varying degrees of water purity, it is imperative to apply circular economy principles in wastewater treatment.
Veolia’s solutions for the Life Sciences Industry
Solutions developed by Veolia for the Life Sciences industry are customized to meet the unique challenges experienced by Clients. It includes analyzing the complete water cycle to determine treatment methods that meet the varying grades of water quality, optimize water recycle, and in particular, ensure quality compliance.
As a wide range of raw materials are used in production, a number of waste streams with different characteristics are generated. Veolia investigates greener waste treatment solutions, including valorisation and solvent regeneration.
