Pulp & Paper Market Challenges

Understanding the Imperatives

Energy in boilers, water in steam and processing, waste as a biomass resource are interlinked closely for every mill.  Paper & pulp production is energy intensive and sustainability with recovery of resources and reducing the carbon footprint are important objectives. The high flow rates and large volumes of wastewater generated by paper mills require optimized solutions. This all equates to strong pressures on resource use in the pulp and paper industry.

Veolia’s solutions for the Pulp & Paper Industry

Veolia has more than 40 ongoing contracts in the P&P industry, more than 300 global references in and more than 47 years experience in the P&P industry. Some examples:

  • Managing the conditioning of fuel feed to boilers and performance based O&M of the boilers and steam production.

  • On-site services to meet the process water, reuse, effluent and sludge treatment requirements.

  • Produce energy via methanisation of fibrous sludge and at the same time reduce this waste stream.
