Metals Market Challenges

Understanding the Imperatives

The metals industry plays a key role in addressing decarbonisation as it accounts for one of the highest GHG emissions related to fossil fuels.

Renewable energy, energy optimisation and reduced waste to landfill initiatives are gaining increased traction. Veolia leverages off its global experience in this regard to provide the industry with holistic solutions aligned to their sustainable development goals.

Water plays a huge role in metals manufacturing, creating significant amounts of wastewater. Water scarcity and global warming have put increased pressure on the industry to achieve low-water consumption production.
